NOROO Group is one of the few long-lived companies that has been around since the beginning of Korean industry. From the days of painting the exterior walls of buildings, it has supplied high-performance paints to industries such as railways, shipbuilding, automobiles, and electronics. To celebrate its 80th anniversary, NOROO Group held the '2025 New Technology and New Product Exhibition' at its Anyang headquarters for five days from April 14. It was an event to officially announce the results of its technology-centered future strategy to the public. A NOROO official explained, "The time accumulated over 80 years has become a technological asset," and "'surface painting technology' has transformed into 'materials that support the industry. NOROO Paint did not introduce technology but revealed the direction of NOROO's future industry portfolio transformation. About 300 people from group companies and partners attended the exhibition. This was to form a 'company-wide consensus for innovation.'A two-way real-time program was also held in which employees within the group could participate online.<_o3a_p>

In addition to the presentations, the event featured streaming technical explanations and live Q&A sessions, where members had in-depth discussions about the product's performance, applications, and marketability.<_o3a_p>

The exhibition was organized around three strategic technology areas. The most notable product was 'stealth paint.' This product is a special paint for the defense industry that simultaneously achieves excellent radio wave absorption and light weight through precise design of polymer microstructure and particle composition. A research institute official explained, "The defense sector is an area that requires national strategic technology," and "It is a bridgehead for entering the high value-added advanced materials market."<_o3a_p>

In the future growth engine technology section, a total of six technologies were revealed with the keywords of environment, safety, and sustainability. The most notable technology was the 'Battery Flame Retardant Molding Agent' for electric vehicles and energy storage systems (ESS). This product is a new material that simultaneously secures high flame retardancy and electrical insulation. 'Carbon Reduction PCM Building Material Paint' is a material that can substantially reduce carbon dioxide emissions while maintaining the properties of the existing color steel plate manufacturing process. It is evaluated to be suitable for the construction and industrial material fields where environmental regulations related to carbon neutrality are being fully applied.<_o3a_p>

The market-leading technology section focuses on improving performance in areas with high consumer contact points. The representative product, 'Hybrid Transparent Protective Coating', is a mixture of epoxy and siloxane resins to ensure scratch resistance, fast curing time, and excellent durability. It can be used in various industrial sites such as parking lots, hotel lobbies, and exposed concrete interiors.<_o3a_p>

The technology that NOROO emphasized at this exhibition is evaluated as a strategic technology that responds to the paradigm shift in the market. Bang Yang-guk, head of NOROO Paint Research Institute, said, "This is a strategic declaration that clearly shows what we will focus on for the next 10 to 20 years." He added, "NOROO Group has held technology exhibitions in the past, but this 80th anniversary is even more meaningful in that it was a place where the entire group shared technology and thought about market changes together."<_o3a_p>
