Nokia announces the extension of its IP collaboration with Irish telecoms operator eir, to 'meet the evolving needs and expectations of its customers by giving them access to world-class connectivity and technology solutions'.

As part of the deal, the Finnish network equipment supplier specifies that eir will use its service router platform powered by its latest in-house FP5 routing silicon, for enhanced capacity, energy efficiency and security.

eir has been a strategic customer for Nokia's network infrastructure business for many years, with our IP collaboration starting over 15 years ago," comments Phil Siveter, Nokia's CEO for the UK and Ireland.
