Ninety One has appointed David Knee as its new head of multi-asset. Knee, who will assume the role toward the end of 2025, brings with him more than 30 years of experience managing multi-asset and fixed income portfolios across South Africa and the UK. He joins from M&G Investments in London, where he most recently served as co-deputy chief investment officer for fixed income.

Prior to that, he held the position of chief investment officer at M&G Investments Southern Africa from 2016. In his new role, Knee will oversee the firm?s global multi-asset teams and also act as co-portfolio manager on strategies and play a central role in advancing Ninety One?s macro research process. Alongside Knee?s appointment, Ninety One also announced the promotion of Rehana Khan to co-head of South Africa equity and multi-asset, a role she will share with Hannes van den Berg.

Khan will also join the global strategic managed portfolio management team, contributing her expertise in specialist equities. She previously worked with Knee at M&G Investments Southern Africa before joining Ninety One in 2020.
