This video provides an overview of our mining operations and sustainability projects that are supporting Tasiast as a world-class mine rooted in our commitment to responsible mining. Viewers have access to aerial views of the operation, our haul trucks, carbon and leach plant, mill, electric buses and our 34MW solar plant that supplies ~20% of the energy used on site.
In addition to our operations, Kinross Tasiast is home to an exceptional camp for its over 4,000 employees, 97% of which are Mauritanian nationals. The camp includes several features that enable employees to thrive including three gyms, a mosque, catering facility and leisure rooms. Kinross Tasiast is committed to creating a workplace that is safe for all, and provides annual safety training for employees, including our most recent global safety initiative - the Safety Excellence Program - that has been rolled out across our global operations.
