TOP QUALITY
Copper cathodes produced at the Głogów Copper Smelter and the Legnica Copper Smelter are one of the Company's core products. They are characterised by very high quality (minimum 99.99% Cu content), confirmed by certificates issued by the world's largest metal exchanges. KGHM's main cathode brands are: HMG-S and HMG-B for the Głogów Copper Smelter and HML for the Legnica Copper Smelter. KGHM's smelters hold numerous Integrated Management System certificates, including those confirming compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, among others. Polish copper cathodes are currently registered on the following exchanges: LME - London Metal Exchange, SHFE - Shanghai Futures Exchange, INE - Shanghai International Energy Exchange and CME - CME Group Inc. Commodity Exchange (formerly 'COMEX').
DIVERSIFICATION OF SALES
The CME Group Inc. Commodity Exchange offers physically settled contracts for primary metals such as copper, aluminium, zinc and lead. For each product, a network of exchange-approved warehouses is available for the delivery and storage of metals. In the case of copper, these are warehouses located in nine locations in the United States. Registered cathodes can be used to settle copper futures contracts - listed on COMEX - by physical delivery of the metal. This expands the possibilities for their use in the capital market in the United States, among others.
Registration of copper cathodes on the CME exchange is another element of the sales diversification policy pursued by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. This certification also increases the global competitiveness of the Polish company and strengthens its position in trade relations.
