The Board of Directors of Kelani Tyres PLC has approved the appointment of Mr. Budrika Tarusha De S. Weerasooria as an Alternate Director, in the capacity of Non-Executive Director, to Mr. Rajinda Priyanjit Weerasooria, Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1st July 2025 The appointment shall be valid for a period of one (1) year. This appointment has been made due to the exceptional circumstance of the original director being absent from the country owing to business commitments, necessitating the appointment of an alternate to ensure continued representation at Board level. The appointment has been reviewed and recommended by the Nominations and Governance Committee.
Mr. Tarusha Weerasooria currently serves as a Director of Finco Holdings (Pvt) Lid. He began his professional career at Sony in 2019, where he gained valuable industry experience. Upon returning to Sri Lanka, he transitioned roles at Resources Development Consultants and Alpha Industries (Pvt) Ltd. He played a key role in the acquisition of Widac, a well-established interior fit-out company, and was instrumental in launching Hacker operations in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
In recognition of his contributions, he was appointed to the Board of Finco Holdings (Pvt) Lid in late 2023 He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management with Finance, both from the University of Warwick, UK. Mr. Weerasooria has been a member of the Entrepreneurs? Organization since late 2023, a global network of business leaders committed to fostering entrepreneurship.
