HCA Healthcare, Inc. announced that Monica Cintado has been appointed as senior vice president of development, effective immediately. In this role, Cintado will lead HCA Healthcare?s enterprise development strategy, overseeing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and strategic investments. She will also guide market analysis, partnership initiatives and real estate strategies to support HCA Healthcare?s long-term growth.

Cintado first joined HCA Healthcare in 1993, working in Operations and International Development for six years. She returned to the Company in 2015 as vice president of development, helping to build key relationships and development strategies for partnerships and acquisitions. In 2019, Cintado also assumed leadership of the Corporate Development team, overseeing strategy, due diligence, negotiations and regulatory approvals for acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to rejoining HCA Healthcare, Cintado was senior vice president of development at United Surgical Partners International, where she led joint ventures with not-for-profit systems and participated in U.S. and international hospital acquisitions. She holds an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and a masters of business administration from Rollins College. Cintado succeeds Joe Sowell, who is retiring after over 15 years with the Company.

During that time, Sowell helped shape HCA Healthcare?s corporate strategies and executed numerous complex transactions.
