GE Aerospace announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with China Airlines for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of GE9X engines that will power the Taiwanese airline's 14 new Boeing 777X aircraft.
A GE Aerospace customer since 1999, China Airlines already operates GE CF6-80C2 engines on its B747-400s, as well as GE90 and GEnx engines on its B777-300ER and B787 fleets, covered by similar service agreements.
' We are grateful that China Airlines has selected GE Aerospace for the maintenance of its new GE9X engines and continues to place its trust in us. We will work closely together to support the entry into service of the GE9X and ensure the smooth operation of their 777X fleet," said Russell Stokes, president and CEO of GE Aerospace Commercial Engines and Services.
