(Alliance News) - Eni Spa announced Monday that its Itabus fleet will travel in Italy with Enilive's HVOlution diesel biofuel.

A new agreement, the company explained in a note, consolidates the collaboration between Enilive, Eni's company dedicated to mobility services and products, and Itabus, a long-distance road transport company that has been part of the Italo group since last May.

The agreement, which follows one signed by the two companies in 2021, aims to develop and enhance the joint commitment of Itabus and Enilive to more sustainable mobility and provides for the refueling and use, by the 100 Itabus vehicles dedicated to passenger transport in Italy, of HVOlution diesel, Enilive's diesel biofuel made from 100 percent renewable raw materials.

Produced in Enilive's Venice and Gela biorefineries mainly from waste, such as used cooking oils and animal fats, and residues from the agribusiness industry, HVOlution is a hydrogenated vegetable oil that can be used by all approved engines* and is available at more than 1,000 Enilive service stations.

Eni trades up 1.3 percent at EUR14.68 per share.
