In view of the solid financial performance recorded in the first half of 2024 'against a backdrop of a return to normal market conditions', Engie has announced an upward revision of its full-year targets.

In 2024, the energy group is now targeting recurring net income, group share, of between €5 and €5.6 billion (instead of €4.2 to €4.8 billion), and EBIT excluding nuclear power of between €8.2 and €9.2 billion (previously expected to be between €7.5 and €8.5 billion).

For the first six months of 2024, Engie posted recurring net income (group share) of €3.8 billion and EBIT excluding nuclear power of €5.6 billion, down organically by 5.9% and 16.3% respectively, with a 'particularly high' basis of comparison.

At 37.5 billion euros, sales were down 20.4% on an organic basis, although the Group claims to have added more than 1 GW of renewable energy capacity in the first half of the year, and 6.9 GW under construction at the end of June.
