Christian Dior said that Maria Grazia Chiuri has decided to step down as creative director of the brand's women's collections after nine years in the role.

The haute couture label, which is part of French luxury group LVMH, didn't name a successor.

The move comes roughly a month after the brand appointed Jonathan Anderson as artistic director of its men's collections, replacing Kim Jones, amid a creative shakeup across the luxury sector.

Earlier this month, French luxury-goods company Kering named Pierpaolo Piccioli as the new creative chief of Balenciaga. Other high-end brands including Gucci, Chanel, Givenchy and Valentino have recently replaced their creative heads over the past year as they seek to attract shoppers to boutiques at a time when the luxury sector contends with waning demand.
