Broad rise on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Sinch climbed, OMXS30 index increased 1.2 percent
At the close, the OMXS30 index was up 1.23 percent to 2,624.09. Shares worth around SEK 18.7 billion were traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
The best performance among the stock exchange's major industrial sectors was technology with a rise of 2.63 percent. At the other end of the scale, energy was at the bottom with minus 2.36 percent.
Among the leading shares, which are included in the OMXS30 index, Sinch rose 6.3 percent while Kinnevik was up 4.9 percent. SCA was the worst performer, down 2.3 percent, while H&M was down 1.4 percent.
Communication services company Sinch took a goodwill impairment of SEK 6 billion in the third quarter. The goodwill impairment is mainly related to the 2021 acquisition of Messagemedia. Sinch reported preliminary adjusted ebitda of SEK 923 million ahead of its interim report to be released on November 6. The share rose 6.3 percent.
Vehicle manufacturer Traton reported final figures for the first nine months of the year, showing higher sales and adjusted operating profit. At the same time, the number of units sold fell slightly. The final figures for the third quarter were in line with the preliminary ones, with an operating profit of EUR 1,140 million. The company reiterated its forecast of an adjusted operating margin of 8-9% for the full year 2024. The share fell 2.1%.
Balcony manufacturer Balco more than doubled its order intake in the third quarter compared to the same quarter last year. Sales and adjusted ebita earnings also increased. The share climbed 10.7 percent.
Lighting company Fagerhult reported lower sales and a halving of operating profit in the third quarter compared to the same quarter last year. Order intake also fell. The share lost 1.2 percent.
The board of directors of real estate company Nyfosa appointed Carl-Johan Hugner as new CEO, effective January 2025. He comes most recently from the position of head of investment banking for real estate companies at Pareto. It was previously known that the current CEO Stina Lindh Hök will resign. The share rose 1.2 percent.
Medical technology company Bonesupport fell 4.9 percent. CEO Emil Billbäck sold shares for SEK 60 million and Michael Diefenbeck, Head of Medical & Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, sold shares for just over SEK 6 million, due to personal financial and tax reasons respectively.
Technology consultant Afry advanced 6.6 percent. Handelsbanken raised its short-term recommendation to buy from hold. At the same time, it reiterated its outperform recommendation for three years.
Handelsbanken raised its long-term recommendation for real estate company Castellum to outperform and reiterated buy in the short term. Castellum rose 2.9 percent.
Further in the real estate sector, Balder and Diös received buy recommendations from DNB and Pareto respectively. Balder increased 1.8 percent and Diös was up 1.7 percent.
Vestum climbed 5.4 percent. Danske Bank raised its advice to buy, from keep.
Construction company Peab advanced 4.4 percent. DNB raised its advice to keep, from sell.
