Trafigura Group Pte. Ltd. agreed to acquire Greenergy Fuels Holdings Limited from Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. (TSX:BAM) and Brookfield Business Partners L.P. (NYSE:BBU) on March 4, 2024. Post acquisition, the company will continue to be led by its current management team. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second half of the financial year. HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. acted as financial advisor to Brookfield. On June 14, 2024, The European Commission has received the notification of a proposed concentration under Merger Regulation by which the undertaking Trafigura Group Pte. Ltd. will acquire Greenergy by way of purchase of shares.

As of July 8, 2024, The transaction has received the approval from The European Commission. Alex Tilley, Lydia Challen, Neil Sinha, Matthew Townsend of Allen Overy Shearman Sterling LLP acted as legal advisor to Brookfield.
