On June 12, 2025, Besra Gold Inc announced that it is compelled to respond to a news release issued on 6 June 2025 by Quantum Metal Recovery Inc, and claims Quantum Metal has made misleading statements and misrepresentations, Quantum has initiated legal proceedings against Besra, alleging the company has not met its obligations under a gold purchase agreement, Quantum is attempting to remove Besra's independent directors, which Besra argues could harm shareholder value. In addition, the Company stated that the BauGold Project has faced delays due to Quantum's failure to remit funds and issues with mining tenement renewals. Further, the Company urged the shareholders to vote against the Quantum Metal nominees and support the current independent directors at the upcoming meeting on June 24, 2025.
