Atos announced on Thursday that it has been selected by UGAP, the French public sector purchasing agency, to optimize the performance of IT rooms and data centers in the public sector.

The contract, won in collaboration with engineering company APL, also covers reducing the energy consumption of the French government's technological infrastructure.

The three-year contract is renewable twice for six months by tacit agreement.

The project, which will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will consist of supporting organizations in the design and structuring of their computer rooms.

The aim is to enable them to make the right technical choices, which are sustainable and scalable, in order to avoid over- or under-sizing and optimize operating costs.

On the Paris Stock Exchange, Atos shares were up 0.6% at noon on Thursday, compared with a 0.2% decline for the Paris market.
