Lock manufacturer Assa Abloy has acquired Calmell, a Spanish producer of smart cards, smart paper tickets, and magnetic stripe tickets, which posted sales of SEK 330 million last year with a strong operating margin.

This information was announced in a press release.

Calmell was founded in 1920 and employs around 100 people. The company is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. Calmell will become part of HID's Identification Technologies business area.

The acquisition will have a positive impact on earnings per share from day one.
