The Stockholm Stock Exchange is trading around break-even at midday on Wednesday. Quarterly reports have dominated the news flow throughout the session, with major banks SEB and Swedbank among today's crop of earnings releases.

At around 1:10 PM, the OMXS30 index was down 0.06 percent at 3,054.04. Adjusted for dividends, the OMXS30 index was up 0.20 percent. Shares worth approximately SEK 9.1 billion had changed hands on the Stockholm bourse.

Among the major industrial sectors, basic materials performed best with a 0.7 percent gain. At the other end of the spectrum, energy lagged behind, falling 1.6 percent.

Among the leading stocks in the OMXS30 index, Epiroc A rose 8.7 percent while Sandvik gained 2.2 percent. The weakest performers were H&M B, down 2.3 percent, and AstraZeneca, which shed 2.0 percent.

Banking giant SEB reported operating profit that exceeded analysts' expectations. Meanwhile, revenue and net interest income were in line with consensus. The bank is launching a new SEK 1.25 billion share buyback program. SEB's shares fell 0.2 percent. Sector peer Swedbank also posted a better-than-expected operating profit, with net interest income also beating consensus. Swedbank plans to sell Payex and reduce its workforce by approximately 550 people. Swedbank's shares rose 0.4 percent.

Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca's revenue and adjusted earnings per share were in line with analyst expectations. The company reiterated its outlook for 2026.

Automaker Volvo Cars reported an operating profit significantly higher than expected, while revenue was in line with consensus. The stock fell 1.4 percent.

Mining and infrastructure equipment group Epiroc reported an adjusted operating profit of SEK 2,868 million, missing expectations. However, order intake was 10 percent better than expected at SEK 18,340 million. The stock climbed 8.2 percent.

Vehicle manufacturer Traton's report was mixed, with adjusted operating profit beating expectations while revenue was weaker than anticipated. Order intake in terms of units rose by 18 percent. The stock was up 0.1 percent.

Construction company Peab reported slightly lower revenue and a reduced operating loss for the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same quarter last year. The first quarter is typically seasonally weak for the company. The stock fell 10 percent.

Investment company Latour's net asset value underperformed its benchmark index in the first quarter. Net asset value stood at SEK 206 per share as of April 28. The stock retreated 1.7 percent.

Research company BioArctic announced that its partner Eisai reached global sales exceeding EUR 500 million for Leqembi during the fiscal year April 2025-March 2026. This triggers a milestone payment of EUR 20 million to BioArctic. The stock rose 1.8 percent.

Online pharmacy Apotea reported a solid increase in both revenue and operating profit in the first quarter compared to the same period last year. The stock was rewarded with a 14 percent gain.

Among other earnings winners, Bico climbed 15 percent and MTG advanced 8.5 percent. On the opposite side, earnings losers included Momentum, which plunged 14.5 percent, and B3, which fell 13.6 percent.
