Finnish engineering giant Valmet will deliver an integrated automation system for the new Polarstern, a next-generation polar research vessel currently under construction by TKMS for the Alfred Wegener Institute, with delivery scheduled for 2030.
The solution includes machinery control, power management, emergency shutdown, and vibration monitoring, complemented by lifecycle services such as predictive maintenance and ongoing system upgrades.
