Norwegian mobile operator Telenor has unveiled a new organizational structure designed to sharpen its focus on local markets and accelerate decision-making. The current business units—Nordics, Asia, Amp, and Infrastructure—will be replaced by a more country-centric model.
As part of this strategic shift, the Nordic country CEOs will join the Group Executive Management team effective August 18. This includes Birgitte Engebretsen for Norway, Jonas Edén for Sweden, Jussi Tolvanen for DNA in Finland, and Lars Thomsen for Denmark.
Concurrently, several leadership changes have been announced. Jon Omund Revhaug, currently Head of Telenor Asia, will become Chief Technology and Transformation Officer, overseeing technology-driven restructuring and efficiency initiatives across the Group. Inger Gløersen Folkeson, previously Head of Customer and Commercial at Telenor Nordics, has been appointed Head of Business Development, with a remit covering the AI Factory, Skygard, and Sovereign Cloud. Thomas Midteide, currently Head of Communications and Brand, will take on the role of Head of Communications and Public Affairs, while Elisabeth Melander Stene, formerly HR Director for Telenor Norway and Telenor Nordics, becomes acting Chief People and Organization Officer. The recruitment process for a new Head of Telenor Asia is underway.
Telenor stated that the reorganization aims to drive efficiency, reduce administrative costs, and support the Group's financial targets of low-to-mid single-digit EBITDA growth, alongside improved free cash flow and return on capital through 2028 and 2030.
