Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has strengthened its position in India’s fast-expanding solar sector after winning a INR13.81bn ($154mn) balance-of-system contract from Adani Green Energy for a trio of projects in the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. In a report covered by POWERLINE, the award forms part of a five-year strategic partnership between the two groups, designed to support Adani’s buildout of one of the world’s largest clean-energy clusters.

Under the arrangement, SWREL will supply equipment and deliver onsite services across the three developments, extending its substantial presence in Khavda, where it is already working on roughly 6GW of solar capacity. Around 5GW of that is slated for completion before the end of the current financial year, reflecting the rapid pace at which India’s utility-scale solar ambitions are being realised. The latest order underscores both companies’ intent to accelerate deployment as competition intensifies to meet national renewable-energy targets.
