It is now confirmed that music streaming giant Spotify will launch audiobooks in Sweden, according to reports from several media outlets.
There has been ongoing speculation for some time that Spotify would introduce an audiobook offering in Sweden.
Spotify has previously launched audiobooks in the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition to Sweden, the service will also be made available in Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.
Subscribers who pay for a Spotify membership will have access to 12 hours of audiobook listening on the platform each month, writes Dagens industri.
Audiobook specialist Storytel fell by around 7 percent following the news.
