STORY: :: A convoy of Hamas militants and Red Cross members start the search for the body of the last Israeli hostage in Gaza

:: The final hostage is a police officer who was killed fighting Hamas militants who attacked Israel on October 7, 2023

Armed Hamas militants were standing guard beside ICRC vehicles in Gaza City before the convoy drove away.

Since the truce started, Hamas has returned all 20 living hostages and 27 bodies in exchange for around 2,000 Palestinian detainees and convicted prisoners.

Israel said last week it would open the Rafah Crossing for exit through Egypt soon, and that it would allow entry through Rafah into Gaza once the last remaining deceased hostage was returned.
