RingCentral, Inc. announced the appointment of Mahmoud ElAssir to its Board of Directors, effective January 7, 2026. ElAssir is a highly accomplished technology and AI transformation leader with more than two decades of experience building and operating mission-critical platforms at global scale across telecommunications, financial services, and healthcare. He brings deep expertise in AI-native platforms, cloud infrastructure, real-time data systems, security, and large-scale product engineering?capabilities central to RingCentral?s next phase of growth.

As Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at UnitedHealth Group, ElAssir leads Group Technology Infrastructure, Platforms, and Services, including Corporate Systems. He oversees more than 8,000 technologists responsible for operating and modernizing one of the world?s most complex enterprise technology environments. His organization is executing a large-scale migration to the public cloud while embedding AI across the stack to increase resilience, speed, and autonomy. ElAssir also leads the modernization of UnitedHealth Group?s customer engagement platform, supporting 80,000 agents, more than 300 million calls annually, and 250 lines of business.

This work is driving real-time intelligence, automation, and reliability across customer and agent interactions at massive scale. Previously, ElAssir held senior leadership roles at Google and Verizon, where he led major AI/cloud, network, and platform transformation initiatives powering global enterprise and consumer services. ElAssir holds a bachelor?s degree in computer and communications engineering from the American University of Beirut.

He currently serves on the advisory boards of Tricentis and Quantum Metric, and is a member of the Board of The Peck School.
