Basic materials was the best-performing major industrial sector, rising 1.7 percent. At the other end of the scale, energy lagged the market, falling 2.2 percent.
Among the blue-chip stocks in the OMXS30 index, Industrivärden C rose 2.7 percent, while Addtech B gained 2.6 percent. Saab B saw the weakest performance, dropping 2.2 percent, while Nibe B eased 0.6 percent.
Mining company Boliden is taking a SEK 700 million impairment charge for its Garpenberg mine in its first-quarter results.
