Neurizon Therapeutics Limited announced that Dr Ross Murdoch has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective May 8, 2026. Dr Murdoch is a highly experienced global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare executive with more than 30 years? experience across listed and private companies in Australia, the United States and Europe.
He brings direct experience in neurology and neurodegenerative disease programs, combined with a strong track record in commercial strategy, operational execution and value realisation across the product lifecycle. Dr Murdoch has held senior leadership roles with AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Shire Pharmaceuticals, spanning clinical development, global project leadership, commercial execution and strategic growth initiatives. He also brings deep United States market experience, having lived and worked extensively in the US across both multinational pharmaceutical and emerging biotechnology companies.
His experience includes US clinical development environments, capital markets engagement, strategic transactions and scaling businesses internationally. Dr Murdoch holds dual Australian and United States citizenship. Dr Murdoch has significant ASX-listed company governance experience, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Avecho Biotechnology Limited and continuing as a Non-Executive Director.
He is currently Chief Executive Officer and President of Extractas Bioscience, where he has led a significant operational transformation and growth program. Ross brings a highly complementary skillset across neurodegenerative disease experience, clinical development and commercial execution, together with deep US market expertise and capital markets experience. As part of this Board transition, Dr Michael Thurn will retire from the Board effective May 8, 2026, following his previously announced transition from the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
