(Alliance News) - Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena announced on Wednesday evening that its shareholders' meeting, with a turnout slightly exceeding 65%, has renewed the lender's board of directors and approved a dividend distribution totaling EUR2.61 billion.
The board of directors consists of 15 members: Cesare Bisoni, Luigi Lovaglio, Flavia Mazzarella, Livia Amidani Aliberti, Massimo di Carlo, Patrizia Albano, Carlo Corrardini, and Antonella Centra from the list submitted by shareholders PLT Holding Srl and PLT Spa, which collectively hold a 1.0% stake.
Nicola Maione, Fabrizio Palermo, Corrado Passera, Carlo Vivaldi, Paolo Boccardelli, and Antonella Centra from the outgoing board's list; and Paola De Martini from the list submitted by institutional investors holding 0.7% of the shares.
Following Nicola Maione's withdrawal of his candidacy for chairman, which he announced directly during the meeting, and as no other candidates were proposed by shareholders for the role, the board will elect its chairman from among its members during the first meeting following yesterday's assembly.
