Mercedes-AMG named Stefan Weckbach as its chief executive.
He is due to take over from Michael Schiebe--who will continue to hold the position on an interim basis--on July 1.
Weckbach has previously held various positions at Porsche and Volkswagen and will bring broad experience to the role at Mercedes-AMG, the carmaker's performance division, the company said Monday.
