The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Friday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0% lower at C$1.3734 to the greenback, or 72.81 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3719 to 1.375. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 5 basis points to 3.126%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 3.9379%. U.S. September crude futures rose 35 cents to $76.54 a barrel on Friday.
