Italy hired banks for a dual-tranche bond syndication to be launched in the near future, subject to market conditions, one of the lead manager banks said Tuesday.

The transaction will include the issuance of a new July 2036-dated benchmark 10-year BTP, and the issuance of a new February 2046-dated BTPei, a bond linked to eurozone HICP ex-tobacco, the bank said.

Given the upcoming syndication, the BTPei auction scheduled for April 24 won't take place.

Citigroup, Credit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, IMI-Intesa Sanpaolo, Santander and Societe Generale are the joint lead managers.
