April 13 (Reuters) - India's Godrej Industries said on Monday its chairperson, Nadir Godrej, will retire in August 2026 and assume the role of chairman emeritus, as part of several planned leadership transitions across the group.

He has been associated with the group since 1977.

Here are the details: 

o Pirojsha Godrej, currently chairperson of Godrej Properties, will succeed Nadir as chairperson of Godrej Industries Group and Godrej Industries Ltd, effective August 14.

o Nadir Godrej will also step down from the boards of other group companies, including Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties, in August.

o He has also stepped down as chairperson and non-executive director of Astec LifeSciences effective April 13.

o Burjis Godrej, an executive director at Godrej Agrovet, will become chairperson of the agriculture business and join the board of Godrej Industries as a non-executive director from August 14.

o Vishal Sharma, the CEO of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed chairperson of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect.
