Heat pump sales rose by 16.5 percent in Europe during the first quarter, with particularly strong performance in Germany and France, reports the Financial Times, citing the European Heat Pump Association.

Energy prices have surged this spring, including gas prices in Europe, following the conflict in Iran. Many European households rely on gas for heating.

In Germany, the market grew by 34 percent, while France saw a 21 percent increase, with over 300,000 units sold during the quarter.

Poland, Finland, and Belgium also recorded gains.

Germany's Vaillant, a competitor to Sweden's Nibe, simultaneously reported that order intake remained strong throughout March and April.
