Godrej Industries Limited at the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors of the Company at their respective Meetings held on April 13, 2026, took note of willingness of Mr. Nadir Godrej to retire and step down as the "Chairman" of the Company with effect from close of business hours on August 13, 2026, on turning 75. Further, considering the vast contribution of Mr. Nadir Godrej to the growth of the Company and the vision and guidance provided by him over several decades, the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors also approved appointment of Mr. Nadir Godrej, as the "Chairman Emeritus" of the Company, with effect from August 14, 2026, along with Mr. Adi Godrej. He will step down from the boards of Godrej Industries Limited, Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products, and Godrej Properties at that time.
He has also stepped down as Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of Astec LifeSciences, effective April 13, 2026. Nadir Godrej has played a pivotal role in shaping the Group's growth, values, and global presence over several decades. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors of the Company at their respective Meetings held on April 13, 2026, approved appointment of Mr. Pirojsha Godrej as the Chairperson of the Board and the Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group with effect from August 14, 2026.
Mr. Pirojsha Godrej, 45, has now been designated as "Chairperson-Designate" with immediate effect. Pirojsha Godrej is Chairperson Designate of the Godrej Industries Group and serves as Chairperson of Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital, and Godrej Ventures. Under his leadership, the Group continues to build on its legacy with a clear ambition for growth, combining strong performance with a deep commitment to values.
He has led Godrej Properties through a phase of rapid growth, culminating in its emergence as India's largest real estate developer by sales in Fiscal Year 2021--a position it continues to hold. He also founded Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures. Pirojsha graduated from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, completed a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University, and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
