FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Following a significant recovery in the previous session, the Dax lacked the momentum for further clear gains on Wednesday morning. Investors appear to be adopting a wait-and-see approach, pending confirmation of whether a new round of talks between Iran and the U.S. will indeed take place in the coming days.
In the opening minutes of trading, the German benchmark index edged up 0.05 percent to 24,055 points, maintaining its position above the 24,000-point threshold. The MDax, which tracks mid-cap companies, rose a further 0.27 percent to 30,617 points. Meanwhile, the Eurozone's blue-chip EuroStoxx 50 index slipped 0.3 percent.
In the U.S. on Tuesday, the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed with substantial gains. Trading boards across Asia also reflected a positive trend in recent sessions./gl/nas
