Expedia Group Inc. named Xavier Amatriain as the company's first chief artificial intelligence and data officer. Amatriain will oversee the company's machine learning and data science efforts. He was most recently a vice president with Google's AI team.

Amatriain joined Google in March 2024, before which he was the co-founder and chief technology officer at the digital health company Curai Health. Other stops in his career include LinkedIn, Quora and Netflix.
