The statement from an Eni spokesperson follows a Bloomberg report suggesting that Eni and Repsol intend to begin natural gas exports from Venezuela by the end of 2031. This follows an agreement with Caracas to revive a long-stalled project aimed at scaling up production from a massive offshore field.
"We confirm that discussions are underway between Eni, Repsol, and Pdvsa on the potential and conditions for gas exports from the Cardón IV project, but we do not comment on details that have not yet been finalized between the parties," the spokesperson said.
