Shares of energy companies fell alongside commodity prices.
Oil futures slipped 1.5% to $57.60 a barrel, testing 52-week lows amid signs of progress in negotiations over the Trump administration's proposals to end the Ukraine war.
Natural gas prices plunged 7.9% to $4.23 a million British thermal units, and have now dropped 20% since hitting a three-year high a week ago, reflecting warmer forecasts for the holiday season.
