Shares of energy companies fell slightly as oil futures hovered around the psychologically significant $60 per barrel.

Norwegian oil major Equinor made two new discoveries of gas and condensate in the North Sea, its largest discoveries so far this year.

Total oil-and-gas rigs operating in the U.S. rose by 5 to 549 this week, oilfield services firm Baker Hughes reported.
