Digi International announced the launch of Digi IX25, a next-generation industrial cellular router platform designed to deliver secure, scalable connectivity for critical networking infrastructure. Industrial and enterprise IT and operational technology teams face persistent challenges when deploying cellular connectivity at scale. Field cabinets and kiosks often lack space for multiple networking devices.

Industrial environments require hardware that can withstand extreme temperatures and hazardous conditions. At the same time, organizations must meet evolving compliance requirements and prepare for private LTE and 5G networks. Digi IX25 addresses these challenges with a single rugged platform that consolidates networking, compute, and secure connectivity into one device.

Four integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports eliminate the need for external switches in field cabinets and kiosks, reducing installation complexity, cost, and potential failure points. Digi IX25 is engineered for demanding industrial applications such as utilities and oil and gas deployments, operating from -40 °C to +75 °C and supporting certifications including C1D2, ATEX, E-Mark, and MIL-STD-810H. The platform uses Western cellular modules and supports TAA-compliant deployments, helping government agencies and critical infrastructure operators meet evolving procurement and supply chain security requirements.

The router platform supports LTE, 5G RedCap, and 5G eMBB across multiple SKUs built on a unified hardware architecture. This allows organizations to standardize on a single platform while maintaining flexibility as cellular networks evolve. An extended lifecycle commitment supports long-term infrastructure deployments common in utilities and industrial operations.

Digi IX25 is also purpose-built for private LTE and 5G networks, with native support for spectrum from Anterix as well as CBRS and FirstNet bands. This enables utilities and infrastructure operators to deploy secure private wireless networks without relying solely on public carrier connectivity. At the network edge, Digi IX25 features a quad core processor and integrated resources to support Linux containers for applications such as SCADA integration, telemetry processing, and edge analytics.

Organizations can run platforms such as AWS IoT Greengrass, Microsoft Azure IoT, and custom applications directly on the router, reducing latency and bandwidth consumption while enabling faster decision-making in mission-critical environments. Operational flexibility is further enhanced through GSMA SGP.32-compliant eSIM support with live bootstrap pre-loaded, enabling zero-touch provisioning, remote carrier provisioning and multi-carrier management without physical SIM swaps. Digi IX25 is centrally managed through Digi Remote Manager (DRM), Digi?s SOC 2 Type 2 compliant platform for secure provisioning, monitoring, firmware updates, and lifecycle management of distributed device fleets.

This platform recently launched its MCP server, allowing customers to leverage natural language to query device fleets, automate workflows, generate configuration insights, and streamline troubleshooting. This capability enables customers to securely integrate large language model products such as Claude and other enterprise AI assistants directly with DRM, transforming how organizations monitor, manage, and optimize their connected infrastructure and wireless WAN (WWAN) deployments at scale. Digi IX25 is available for purchase beginning March 31, 2026, through Digi?s global sales channels and channel partners.
