FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Delivery Hero's recent recovery rally came to a halt on Thursday following a sell recommendation. Shares of the food delivery company lost as much as 6.5 percent, although they only gave back part of the previous day's gains. From their yearly low in mid-November, the stock had recently surged by 45 percent.

Much of this momentum was fueled by speculation over potential further sales of company divisions, which could unlock value. However, analyst Monique Pollard from Citigroup did not address this in her outlook for Europe's internet sector for 2026.

Pollard did, however, respond to mounting competitive pressure for Delivery Hero in the MENA region (Middle East/North Africa) by further lowering her earnings forecasts, after having already slashed them following the third quarter.

She now advises selling the stock, maintaining an unchanged price target of 19 euros. The fierce competition in the MENA region is not new to the market, but recently there had appeared to be signs of stabilization./ag/mis
