Christian Stein to Take the Helm of Renault Group Spain
Effective July 1, 2026, Christian Stein will succeed Josep María Recasens as CEO of Renault Group Spain, following the latter's decision to pursue new opportunities outside the company.
Christian Stein will combine this strategic leadership role with his current position as Chief Communication Officer for the group. He will report directly to François Provost, CEO of Renault Group.
A Roadmap Focused on the 'futuREady' Plan
This appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the French automaker, which is celebrating 75 years of operations in Spain. Christian Stein will lead a major industrial and commercial ecosystem, including: four major production and R&D sites (Madrid, Valladolid, Palencia, and Seville), 482 sales and after-sales points (Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands), and the financial backing of the captive arm, Mobilize Financial Services.
The new executive's primary mission will be to steer the deployment of the company's global strategic plan, dubbed futuREady. A key point for investors: Christian Stein benefits from a path already cleared by the recent signing of Renault Spain's new collective bargaining agreement. This deal secures the future of local plants through the allocation of five new models and the rollout of the Group's new electric platform, thereby ensuring long-term industrial and financial visibility.
A Comprehensive Profile to Secure Spanish Operations
With a career spanning over 35 years in the automotive sector, Christian Stein's profile combines operational expertise, commercial acumen, and influence management (communications and public affairs). This background is considered essential by François Provost to lead one of the manufacturer's most strategic industrial markets in Europe during the full transition toward electrification.
