The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. 

The loonie was trading 0.1% higher at C$1.3945 to the greenback, or 71.71 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3934 to 1.3963.

Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 0.6 basis points to 3.197%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.1403%.

U.S. November crude futures rose 4 cents to $62.59 a barrel on Thursday.
