Canara Bank announced that the Central Government vide Gazette Notification eF. No. 4/4/(vii)/2024-BO.I dated November 24, 2025 has appointed Shri Prabhat Kiran (DoB: 15.10.1971), Chief General Manager, Canara Bank as Executive Director, in Bank of Maharashtra for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the office, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
His appointment is under Clause (a) of sub-section (3) of Section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970. He will serve for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prabhat Kiran is a seasoned banker with 30 years of experience, having started his career in 1996 with Canara Bank.
He has extensive experience in SME-Corporate lending, Risk Management, and International operations. Before joining the Bank of Maharashtra, he was the Chief General Manager at Canara Bank, heading the Large Corporate Wing. He holds a B.A. (Hons), a PG Diploma in Business Administration, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
He is also a certified Credit Professional with Composite Insurance Certification and a Certificate in MSME. Prabhat Kiran has no relationship with any existing directors of the Bank.
