Aon plc announced the appointment of Simon Hawkins as executive managing director for Reinsurance within the global legacy team, joining later this year. In this role, he will advise clients on complex legacy and run-off transactions, supporting the delivery of innovative capital advisory solutions across global markets. He joined an experienced global legacy team and will work closely with regional hubs for capital advisory to support legacy activity across the global market.

Hawkins is based in London and will report to Mike Cane, head of capital advisory for the UK. Hawkins' appointment reflected the firm's continued investment to meet growing client demand for legacy solutions globally. Hawkins joined Aon from Compre, where he served as chief operating officer, after his time at QBE as head of legacy.

He brought deep expertise in legacy and run-off transactions and will support clients worldwide as demand for legacy solutions continues to grow.
