AirAsia X Berhad has appointed Mr. Low Kar Chuan as the Group Chief Financial Officer with effect from January 19, 2026. Mr. Low Kar Chuan is 44 years old and holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accountancy from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia) and a Chartered Accountant (Malaysian Institute of Accountants).
Mr. Low is a seasoned banking professional with over 23 years of financial services experience in large corporate and investment banking activities mainly equity, debt, corporate banking and M&A transactions. Prior to joining AirAsia, Mr. Low spent over 15 years in RHB Investment Bank as well as Maybank Investment Bank. Mr. Low has been instrumental as a key partner of the Company and Capital A Berhad since 2016, playing an instrumental role in addressing their capital and funding needs.
His contributions include supporting management with deal origination and execution, helping to manage funding requirements and overseeing debt and equity fundraising efforts. Mr. Low brings a unique understanding of the organisation, having built strong working relationships with management and stakeholders, along with a wealth of external financial experience. His deep knowledge and proven track record will be invaluable in helping the Company navigate the complex challenges of the aviation industry and meet its financial demands.
