The board of investment firm Kinnevik has appointed Helena Saxon as the new CEO, effective August 1. While the stock rose on the news, Affärsvärlden's editor-in-chief Peter Benson remains skeptical of the company in a commentary on Monday.

'Selling off unpopular assets at fire-sale prices only to buy what is popular and therefore expensive. The risk of poor deal-making is imminent and is further exacerbated by the fact that Kinnevik is operating from a position of weakness with a tarnished brand,' writes Peter Benson.

Peter Benson previously criticized Kinnevik in a column published on March 13.
