Adani Green Energy has strengthened its position as one of
India’s largest renewable power producers with the commissioning of
a 200-MW solar project at Khavda in Gujarat, delivered through two
of its subsidiary companies according to POWERLINE. The
development adds further scale to the group’s fast-growing
portfolio in the country’s most ambitious renewable energy
zone.
The latest installation comprises a 75-MW unit developed by
Adani Renewables Energy Fifty Six Limited and a 125-MW unit
delivered by Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited. Their
completion lifts the company’s operational renewable capacity to
just under 17 GW the report adds, reinforcing its lead in a market
undergoing rapid transformation as state utilities and industrial
consumers seek to reduce carbon intensity.
Khavda has emerged as a focal point for large-scale solar
deployment, offering high irradiation and vast tracts of land
suited to utility-scale projects. The commissioning aligns with the
group’s wider strategy to accelerate clean-energy build-out across
its national footprint, with solar forming the core of its
generation mix. AGEL’s expanding operational base also positions it
to support India’s long-term decarbonisation trajectory, which
hinges on sustained investment in grid-connected renewable
capacity.
