Solar energy company Absolicon is participating as an industrial partner in the TIES research program at the University of Gävle, aimed at developing sustainable and resilient industrial energy systems.

The program has been awarded 43.5 million SEK from the KK-stiftelsen (The Knowledge Foundation) over eight years. Including co-financing from the university and participating companies, the total investment amounts to approximately 113 million SEK.

Absolicon is contributing at least 0.6 million SEK in the form of labor and expertise, according to a press release.

The research scope includes energy storage, hydrogen solutions, carbon capture, AI-based decision support, and fossil-free process heat. For Absolicon, the initiative serves as a means to strengthen its expertise in industrial solar thermal energy and the energy transition.
